# GPT

In the GPT section, you can choose between four models offered by OpenAI. Each [model](/autogpt/how-to-use/gpt/models.md) has its strengths and weaknesses. To achieve better results, you can adjust [Temperature](/autogpt/how-to-use/gpt/temperature.md) and [Max Tokens](/autogpt/how-to-use/gpt/max-tokens.md).

You can also switch between *General OpenAI API* or *ChatGPT API*. The ChatGPT API offers two models, including the GPT-3.5-turbo model that is available for everyone. If you wish to use the GPT-4 model, you will need an invitation from the waitlist, which you can join by clicking [here](https://openai.com/waitlist/gpt-4-api).

In the text field below, you can paste your OpenAI API key and click the checkmark button to save it. Your key will be **securely stored** in the keychain. You might be asked to confirm this.
